Christopher T. Davis, JD

Mr. Christopher T. Davis, JD is the principal attorney of Davis Law Firm, P.A. and has been in private practice in Southeastern Minnesota since 1998. He has a depth and breadth of experience in estate planning including financial powers of attorney, health care directives, wills and trusts as well as charitable gifting strategies. Mr. Davis works closely with families assisting them through Probates, Guardianships and Conservatorships as well as any special needs issues including integrating their estate plans with Supplemental Needs and Special Needs Trusts. 

Mr. Davis has worked with and represented families through Wrongful Death proceedings. He understands the difficulties families face with the sudden loss of a family member and the complexity of a Wrongful Death proceeding. Christopher has 15 years experience in the insurance industry and has a breadth of knowledge on insurance carriers, their policies and their legal obligations to their policyholders.

Mr. Davis provides counsel on business formations for new entrepreneurs. He also serves as counsel for several businesses providing advice on purchase agreements, buy/sell agreements, business succession plans and large asset acquisitions including corporate aircraft. 

Previously, Christopher served as corporate counsel for securities and insurance firms and was a partner at Breneman, Davis and Associates, LLP, a registered investment advisory firm.  Prior to entering private practice, he served as compliance officer for a financial advisory firm providing advice and counsel on securities and insurance law and regulations. 

Mr. Davis is licensed to practice law in the state of Minnesota and is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association. He speaks on the topics of estate planning, business formations and Supplemental Needs and Special Needs Trusts.  Christopher enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, coaching his two sons, Nate and Ben, and playing fetch with the ever present and always underfoot, yellow Labrador retriever, Thor.

Jennifer E. Burt, JD

Ms. Jennifer E. Burt, JD is an attorney at Davis Law Firm, P.A. practicing in the areas of personal injury, family law and tax law. Ms. Burt also has experience in various areas of personal injury litigation, as well as criminal defense, juvenile delinquency, and child protection cases. Prior to joining the Davis Law Firm, P.A. she worked as a law clerk at Sieben, Grose, Von Holtum and Carey, Ltd., and at the Public Defender’s Office in both the 3^rd and 5^th Judicial Districts.

Ms. Burt was raised here in Rochester, Minnesota. She received her JD from the University of St. Thomas School of Law and completed her Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota and is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association.
