Conservatorships & Guardianships
Guardianships are established for those individuals who are
unable to care for their physical well-being and are unable to
grant another person the authority to make his or her health
care decisions.
Conservatorships are established for individuals who are
unable to care for their financial well-being and are unable to
grant another person the authority to make his or her financial
decisions.
We have handled Guardianships and Conservatorships for
individuals and families since Davis Law Firm, P.A. was founded.
We work with families to establish Guardianships and
Conservatorships for individuals who are incompetent or
incapacitated as well as for minor children. Our attorneys often
look for ways to avoid Guardianships and Conservatorship, if at
all possible, through the use of health care directives and
powers of attorney. However, the party granting the authority
must be competent to execute these documents.
Once a Guardianship or Conservatorship has been established through a formal hearing, we work with the Guardian and Conservator to comply with the annual filing and notices as required by the Court.
